The world of Chris Unit is raw and captivating, born of primal sound, affirmed by corresponding images.
Unit’s sound images alert our inner and outer frequencies to rebuilt unity within the global bandwidth of mankind.
This new universe is intensely hypnotic.
He expresses himself and talks to us with that which touches us simply: the wonder of reality, in its present state, reconstructed in a captivating and artistic harmony.
Sounds and images are captured haphazardly by way of improvisation, to be restored in an animated structure that plays to the emotions.
The strength and radicalism of the work is founded on a simple concept coupled with the richness of expressive freedom.
Then possibilities are immense, with infinite variations, yet conveying messages universally understand.
As a video director, Chris Unit is first a musician who is tuned into his immediate environment, provoking chain reactions that inspire happiness and love.
Charlie Chaplin is therefore his natural mentor: inventive, alone during every step of production, capable of provoking all emotions, and in the service of love.
A self-taught professional drummer and percussionist since his youth (his mother used to drive him to play in popular balls at 14), he has performed in studios and on stage with such singular French artists as Zazie or Princess Erika.
As an experimental musician he is these days involved in performances along with personalities like Parris (Carmel) and Xumo Nounjio within the Nzi Dada project.
It is this present stage that leads the artist to try to merge sight and sound, side by side, in a tapestry of unity.
Unit’s goal is to harmoniously connect the frequencies that share this moment in time.
